The greatest thing about the Missed Connections on craigslist is that there's never any shortage of missing, which in turn guarantees that there's never any shortage of material. Just like its predecessor, Volume 2 is a collection of Missed Connections, with all the grammatical quirks in tact, each illustrated by none other than yours truly. It's 33 pages and only $3!
THE LABORER AND THE NIGHTINGALE
"The Laborer and the Nightingale" is one of Aesop's fables. He happened to come back from a 2600 year slumber just to prompt me to co-opt his words and turn them into a zine, complete with cut paper illustrations. The finished product is 23 pages with a heavy blue cover and just $3.
WHO WHAT WHERE WHEN WHY (I THINK I LOVE YOU)
For a few weeks in late January and early February, I combed through the "Missed Connections" ads on craigslist, endlessly fascinated by the desires and desperation wrapped up in a few paragraphs of "I saw you friday night at this bar and I just can't get you out of my mind." Beside sheer fascination, the ads provided me with fodder to create this zine, which is composed of 21 ads and accompanying illustrations. It's 44 lovely black and white pages for a mere $3.
